Wow, what does that mouthful mean?
You will be aware that the right side of your brain controls the left side of your body and vice versa.
When you make a movement that is not symmetrical i.e. one movement on one side and something completely different on the other, the brain hemispheres are forced to work independently. When challenged like this, the neural pathways fire up and your cognitive function is getting a workout.
Combine it with a balance exercise and you are getting great bang for your buck!
With your left arm straight trace a vertical line out in front of you from your side to as high as you can.
At the same time, draw a circle with your right arm.
Keep this going for six repetitions and then swap over, trace the circle with your left arm and the line with your right.
Now stand on one leg and go through the routine again. (Or go into a semi lunge or any other position which challenges your balance.)
If you found the circle easy try the more difficult triangle.
Most difficult of all, try the triangle and the circle together!
